A resume is an essential element for searching for any job and making recruiters reward you with the job of your dreams. A resume also termed as “curriculum vitae or CV” is a short summary of your education and background portraying your skills and accomplishments for the requirement of a job. It is often regarded as the first introduction of a potential employee. A resume usually consists of two or three pages and must be written in a way that can impress your employer and the entire organization.

- Make sure your resume is tailored to the job:
One should be quick to submit a Resume but, analyze it before submitting. Research about the entire organization, their cultural norms, experience value and the desired qualifications they look while hiring a candidate.
- Key skills and strengths:
You have to make a list of things you are good at. It can be general basic skills or specific skills as per the requirement of the job. Mostly the key skills are communication skills and teamwork abilities. Make sure you highlight these skills for a particular job.
- Personal attributes:
Personal attributes include your personal details. It usually consists of your full name and contact details. You can also include your behavioural attributes under this section like you are reliable, honest and trustworthy or quick to learn new things.
- Educational background:
The educational background shows your highest level of education. Simply note down or list your academic achievements like the marks you got in the 10th and 12th standard, school or class captainships, awards you received, etc.
- References:
Under References, you should list at least two people who know you good and can positively recommend you as an employee and create a positive impact on a resume.
- Explain your Employment history:
Whenever you are providing your employment history, always start with the recent jobs you had done. You may include your work experience, work placements or internships or even volunteering.
- Format for clarity:
Always form a proper structure and clear resume which will help the recruiters to have a good impression about your discipline and organized way of working.
- Keep it concise:
Recruiters generally scan the resume within seconds, so its good to keep the CV short and concise. Inclusion of unnecessary things can make it get rejected.
- Contact details:
You must include your contact details such as your name, email address and contact number in your resume. It will help the recruiters to contact you.
- Add keywords:
Keywords play a highlighted role in getting better jobs. A lot of agencies use software that scans the resume for keywords and phrases. It includes skills, jobs, activities, achievements, etc.
